When I see a station wagon in the street, I think the owner must be likes to shop a lot so he/she needs a big luggage space. Or maybe he/she has to bring many stuffs in their everyday activity. But how about an AWD station wagon like Audi A6 Allroad, Subaru Outback, or Volvo Cross Country models? I guess maybe the owner likes to take a vacation running away from the boring activities in his/her office.
And if you like an AWD station wagon (so do I!), and planning to buy it next year, then you have a new choice from Volvo. Yes, the Swedish carmaker just introduced the New V90 Cross Country to the world this week. According to the company, the latest Cross Country model is the getaway car.
Based-on the latest generation of V90, the all-terrain model gets some changes to looks tougher and it can be differentiated to its sibling. Just like other Cross Country models from Volvo, the rugged estate has a front skid, plastic cladding in every wheel arches, and a rear skid plate. Furthermore, the automaker raise its ground clearance. The result is the Cross Country has 218 mm which means that 65 mm higher than the regular V90 and 33 mm higher than its rival, Audi A6 Allroad.
Inside, it has similar design to S90 and V90. Buyer will get a luxury interior with high quality material. For the features, the AWD wagon still has a panoramic roof, CleanZone which will filter particulates and odours, closing the air intakes if pollutant levels rise, speakers from Bowers & Wilkins to produce the best sound for your favorite musics, 9-inch touchscreen with navigation system, 12.3-inch TFT display in the center cockpit, Pilot Assist; a Volvo’s semi-autonomous system, and more. Moreover, the estate features Hill Descent Control, All Wheel Drive system (of course!), and 5 driving modes such as, Comfort, Eco, Dynamic, Off Road, or Individual. Individual Mode enables you to setup your own mode based-on your driving style.
Volvo hasn’t released any information about its engine line up. But probably, it will have the same engine as V90. It means that V90 Cross Country to get D4, D5, T5, and T6 engines with power output starts from 190 hp to 320 hp.
2017 Volvo V90 Cross Country is expected to go on sale in early 2017.
