It’s been 8 years the first generation of Honda Freed sold in Japan and South East Asia. And seems like Honda can’t wait any longer to launch the second generation after seeing its rival, Toyota Sienta is sold in Indonesia, one of most important market for Freed.
Recently, the Japanese carmaker just released the first teaser of New Freed. A picture shows latest Freed from front-to-side angle. We can clearly see the front-right side of the MPV. 2017 Freed adopts ‘Solid Wing Face’ as latest Honda identity. Its headlights, at a glance is look like taken from latest Fit/Jazz. The A-pillar now is thinner which means will have better visibility for both driver and front passenger, thanks to new small windows. And all windows from front to rear seems bigger than its predecessor. Meanwhile, I have no idea how the rear section will look like. But some reports said that Freed’s latest taillights will much bigger than the current generation.
In its official site Honda claims that latest Freed will more comfort, more efficient, and better driving performance. Speaking of performance, All-New Freed is said to get Earth Dreams powertrain that producing 130 hp. It means 12 hp faster than the first generation. Moreover, the MPV to get 1.0 liter 3-cylinder turbo which will be launched in 2021.
2017 Honda Freed will go on sale this fall in Japan. Reports said that latest Freed will make its debut at 2016 Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS) this August.
