Chevrolet was caught doing a photo shoot for its latest electric car, Bolt EV. It’s an electric-crossover (no, it isn’t a hatchback, guys) that will compete with BMW i3. In addition, the Bolt EV is likely to replace Chevy Spark EV in the future.
From the photos, we can see that the electric car is completely different from its concept version that made its debut at 2015 Detroit Motor Show. Chevrolet’s designers seems prefer to give a brand new exterior design. The result is at a glance the Bolt is looked like the latest Volt. Up front, there are LED headlights and a black grille. Meanwhile, from side we can see that the C-pillar has similar design to the BMW i3 with ‘floating effect’.
The 2017 Bolt EV powertrain is still unknown. But reports said that it will have lithium-ion battery pack from LG Chem which has power around 50 kWh. And for the driving range, according to Car and Driver the 5-door crossover can drive up to 320 km or more.
2017 Chevrolet Bolt EV is reported to make the first appearance at 2016 Consumer Electronic Show (CES) next January and will go on sale in the early of 2017.
