Well, is this a car that you’ve been waiting for? Or is this a car that make you wondering about how it looks like? I was impressed when Subaru introduced Legacy Concept at 2013 LA Auto Show. The concept car has a futuristic and sporty design. And then Subaru told us that Legacy Concept was a preview of next Legacy. And everyone got excited after that.
And at 2014 Chicago Auto Show, the Japanese automaker revealed the production version of Legacy. Sadly, 2015 Legacy is not like what people expected before (including me!). Its exterior design is just boring and plain. Up front, Subaru’s designer redesigned the headlights and keep the hexagonal grille which is the best thing. Unfortunately, instead of keeping the coupe-like roofline, Subaru decided to dropped it. At the rear, there’s no bulging line anymore and the company redesigned the taillights.
Inside, Subaru offers new infotainment system with the choice 6.2-inch capacitive touchscreen, or 7.0-inch with navigation. The interior design highlights horizontal theme. There are soft-touch materials, thicker cushioning for armrest, and new trim styles on center console.
Under the hood, 2015 Legacy carries Boxer 2.5L 4-cylinder produces 175 hp and 3.6L 6-cylinder with 256 hp. These engines are mated with Lineartronic CVT. Manual transmission is dropped.
