South Korean automaker, Hyundai, just revealed their latest line-up, Xcent. So, what is this? It’s a compact sedan that’s based-on Grand i10 hatchback. Its exterior design is almost the same with Grand i10. Up front, Xcent comes with Grand i10 face. So, if you stand in front of it you probably think that it’s a Grand i10. Walk to the side of the car, and you will realize that’s not the same. The C-pillar has different design and look to the rear. Now it has a trunk! So, basically it’s a Grand i10 Sedan.
Inside, Xcent has fairly interior design just like its sibling. Hyundai offers interesting features, including rear parking camera, push button start, USB-ready audio system with 1GB storage. For the top variants, it will have automatic climate control, steering-mounted audio controls, dual airbags for driver and front passenger, ABS, etc.
The compact sedan will be offered with 1.1L diesel engine and 1.2L petrol engine. These engines are mated with 5-speed manual transmission as a standard. For petrol engine, Hyundai offers 4-speed automatic transmission as an option.
Hyundai Xcent will go on sale in India in March 2014 and ready to compete with Maruti Dzire and Honda Amaze.
